"Money is the condensed class relation. It's not the middleman that cancels out when commodities are exchanged. Banks and commercial capitals actually trade with money as commodity with the same aim as industrial capitals do: to mature an investment, to accumulate capital. How is this done? There is one group who has nothing to trade in, except their labour power. Because they need a wage to make a living, they are beggars not choosers - being completely and utterly at their capitalist masters' mercy. Capitalists compete each other with the cheapness of their workforce and exercise power over them: "Who doesn't work for me shouldn't eat" A life with a price tag is not free. "
